Production Associate

Job Requirements

  • Performs any combination of following tasks to assemble equipment or subassemblies: assemble, wire, brazing, solder, taping, insulating, testing, cleaning, polishing, refrigerant charging/recovery, packaging of products and running machinery.
  • Reads work orders, follows production drawings, work instructions, sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • May require cleaning and inspecting parts and disassembly of returned units.
  • Follow quality and safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Assist in all other areas within and outside of primary assigned production cell.


  • High School Graduate, GED or equivalent work experience (1-2 years).
  • Good reading, comprehension, written and verbal English skills and use of addition, subtraction, multiplication and the division of numbers where interpretation is required.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Must be able to work with small and large hand tools both manual and power driven.
  • Must be available to work full-time 40 hours per week, approximately Monday thru Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm.
  • Good work ethic.
  • Good attendance record.
  • Must be able to stand / walk continuously throughout an 8 hour shift.
  • Must be able to lift 35-50 pounds on a continuous basis.

List Most Frequently Handled Tools, Equipment and Materials: 

Pallet jack, bench tools: hammer, needle nose pliers, wrench, pinch pliers, wire cutters, rivet gun, torch, air gun, etc. Employer provides anti-fatigue mats. Suppliers are kept in close proximity to workstation to reduce unnecessary walking.

Working Conditions: 

  • Working at heights (ladders used to retrieve supplies from shelving)
  • Working around moving machines: fork-lifts, conveyor belt
  • Protective Equipment Required (eyewear, steel toe or composite toe footwear, etc.)
  • Acceptable visual acuity (binocular visual acuity (both eyes) of at least 20/40 with or without corrective eyewear)*
  • Depth perception (the ability of an observer to judge the spatial relationships of objects, especially their relative distance from the observer and from one another, stairs, safety.)
  • Color perception (wiring and color coded labels)
  • Acceptable field of vision (a normal visual field measuring 90 degrees temporally to central fixation, 50 degrees superiorly and nasally, and 60 degrees inferiorly.)*
